Welcome to the heart of the Solčava Protected Forest in Logarska valley, where we tested the Cobra Z600-30 forestry skyline system just a few hundred meters below the Klemenšek farm. Following its successful first public appearance at the Austrofoma 2023 trade fair, we put it through intensive testing again on home turf. 

On Monday, May 12, 2025, its performance, mobility, and intelligent operation attracted more than 50 interested forestry industry representatives to the demonstration presentation. Demand for our most technically and technologically complex yet user-friendly solution for professional timber harvesting is highest among users who work in difficult terrain and want to preserve the remaining forest as much as possible when hauling felled trees. For this reason, we have also been joined by partners from abroad who wish to present it in their markets.

Innovative mobile forestry skyline system for demanding conditions

The Cobra Z600-30 is a forestry skyline system that enables efficient harvesting of logs with minimal impact on the undergrowth. Thanks to its compact platform, it can be transported to the work site as a trailer with a tractor or other work machine with sufficient power to transport and drive the tower motor. The route layout is flexible, as the system allows the use of start, end, and, if necessary, intermediate supports, covering an area of 600 m in length and a working range of 220°.

Main advantages of the Cobra Z600-30:

• Maximum route length: 600 meters.
• Working range of the tower: 220° (110° in each direction).
• Load capacity of the carriage: 30 kN or 3 tons.
• Smart automatic operation: the carriage automatically adjusts its speed according to the terrain and stored stations.
• Audible signal to warn of the carriage's arrival.
• Remote control: each worker has their own controller.

Field demo: Cobra Z600-30 in action

On the demo day, we were greeted in the forest by Štefan, Lovro, and Bogdan, who have already transported a great amount of timber with the new cableway over the past three weeks. They showed our audience how the new generation of mobile skyline Cobra works.

In addition to the foldable 9.5 m high tower, the star of the show is the 3000 HS Premium, which, with its electro-hydraulic drive, 30 kN load capacity, and well-thought-out design, enables fast, safe, and efficient timber handling even on steep terrain. It is characterized by its low weight (280 kg), optimal design that prevents branches from getting caught, and robust construction.

"We are located in the Logarska Valley, where we were working today with the new Uniforest Z600 cable winch. At this site, we were transporting wood from the bottom to the top. Today, we were working with a forestry crane and a tractor, so there were four of us. We can also simplify the work when we have a processor head on the excavator, in which case, two or three workers are enough. It was clear that the carrier is quite fast and powerful. In two hours, we harvested about 30 cubic meters of timber, which is now ready for transport." (Lovro Vršnik)

At the demo site, visitors also saw the TITAN 40/20 firewood processor and the 2x90GKX forestry winch from our newest series in action. Štefan Klemenšek shared his impressions: "Uniforest gave me the opportunity to test the 2x90GKX winch. The proportional brake and the auxiliary winch were the most useful for me, as we work on very steep terrain that makes timber handling especially challenging."
