Lately, we have visited Mr. Jim Fuhr, head of a family-run forest operation, who shared his experience with the TITAN 40/20 firewood processor.

Watch the video review of TITAN 40/20 by Jim Fuhr:

Managing the Forest: A Family Tradition

The Fuhr family has been processing wood for many years, primarily to meet the heating needs of their farm. Initially, this involved manual methods. However, as demand grew, the family invested in a range of equipment, beginning with a small log splitter and eventually building their horizontal splitter. This hands-on approach allowed them to increase productivity over time.

Investment in Firewood Processing Equipment

In 2012, after renovating their farm, the family upgraded their heating system, relying on the timber from their forest. As they continued to grow their wood processing operation, they recognized the need for more specialized equipment. After much research, they invested in a firewood processor to streamline their operations further.

The Fuhr family explored various options through trade fairs, magazines, and online research. Eventually, they found the Uniforest firewood processor TITAN 40/20 to be the most suitable choice. The family visited a local dealer, where they spent a day observing a live demonstration of the machine. Following the demonstration, it was clear that TITAN 40/20 was the equipment they needed.

A Robust and Efficient Solution

Once they placed their order, the firewood processor took a few weeks to arrive. Upon delivery, Jim and his family received a comprehensive introduction to the machine. The processor stood out due to its robust construction—made of high-quality steel and weighing nearly two tons. One of the key reasons they chose this model was its use of a circular saw blade instead of the common chainsaw bar, which improves both efficiency and longevity of the firewood processor.

Looking Ahead: Expanding Their Equipment Line

Looking ahead, the Fuhr family plans to expand their equipment roster. They are particularly interested in the new Separator wood cleaner to complement the TITAN 40/20, which they saw at the KWF conference. The new system promises to improve the performance of their equipment, helping them get the most out of their investment.

For Jim Fuhr, the goal remains clear: to operate a sustainable, efficient wood processing system that can meet the heating needs of the farm, while investing in equipment that ensures long-term reliability and productivity.

We'd like to thank Mr. Fuhr and his family for their hospitality and wish them successful and safe work on their farm.
