Nathan Waterfield - User Opinion

Nathan Waterfield from the USA is a proud owner of his second Uniforest forestry winch and a Scorpion 1800 timber grab.

For 8 years, Nathan has been using a Uniforest forestry winch for wood manipulation. He started off with the 55 M model which he later replaced with the 55 Hpro because of its remote control feature. He states that the remote control feature has a significant importance when operating a forestry winch. When the wire rope is completely unwound on steep and difficult terrain, there is no need to head back to the tractor in order to pull the load. This does not only enable a greater productivity but it also has a significant safety factor because the operator is able to stand at a safer when it is pulling heavier loads in difficult terrains.

Working with the 55 Hpro has made Nathan realize that his first, mechanical winch applies the pulling force by pulling on the rope, whereas the 55 Hpro model pulls with full power instantly after pressing the button on the remote control. Even though they have the same pulling force, the 55 Hpro prevents damage to the wire rope and improper winding.
